Modigliani

Even though the way of living was little bit different, Modigliani and Picasso lived Bohemian life. For example, Picasso was addicted with women and Modigliani was addicted with drink and drug. And also that their early stages of painting incorporate gloomy and blue is similar one. I think this mood originated from their poverty and tough life of early stages of painting. While Modigliani exaggerated shape of face, neck and face expression of portrait with sharp image and we can figure out his subject because his art works resembled with his subject, Picasso depict women portrait with exaggerated plumping and sometimes viewer can’t figure out his subject because Picasso analyzed his subject too much and spread out these forms on the plat canvas like puzzle. Even though Picasso expressed perfection from his art works, Modigliani showed us feeling of incompletion because he didn’t draw eyeballs in his portraits sometimes.

Les Demoiselles d’Avignon

The two heads of on the right and a third on the left seems to be Negro sculpture in Africa. Picasso flatted and simplified them and gave them sharp contours such as elbows, breasts, and knees. And the three on the left have large heavily outlined eyes, ears and noses seen in profile even the face is seen in strait. The figures on the right are more angular by hatchings with colors. Their facial expression is so exaggerated and these three heads are strongly modeled by contrast with the others. Picasso used strong color such as strong blue and heavy shadow beside these three characters to stress differences with the others. And straight lines make me feel so strong even without any male figures in it. So, if there were any male figures in it, I think the emotional change is very big because straight lines is very good tools to express male’s figures and straight lines will be able to help the viewer to feel more strong feeling than before. Picasso wanted to express a full face and a profile simultaneously and I think he was also good at observing objects and catching the main point in each section. So I think his ability and his purpose created this masks.

Women of Picasso

Picasso was "Bohemian Casanova." He met eight women for his wives and mistresses. These all women played important role in his art and his life. Whenever he changed his women, his art styles showed a significant change in the tone and their impact was apparent in most of his female nude. For examples, when he met Dora ,who was an attractive successful photographer, Dora usually portrayed in Picasso's painting as a weeping woman because she had hypochondria while Picasso met Dora.
And What I confuse is why they didn't leave Picasso by themselves. Even though they knew Picasso had relation with another mistresses, they didn't leave. Could we express this as charisma? I don't think so. I think he had so mean personality and he used his fame to meet many woman. And It also can't be excuse that he met many women for his inspiration. I think it is just cause and effect. I can admit he was a genius artist of all around world but he was not good man.

"Ron Mueck"

When I saw this sculptures, I couldn't keep close my mouse because these sculptures depicted so realistic and vivid human body. First of all, When I saw "A Girl", It seems to be cry out like real baby. This sculpture expressed detail about wrinkles, skin colors, hairs, and the lines of human body. It was very awesome to me.

Annie Leibovitz

I disagree she possesses unique qualities because her picture is just commercial photograph about celebrities. I know she handled vivid their life near their life. But I can’t find any artistic and aesthetics from her art works.
Even though I was not interested in celebrities' photograph because I couldn't find any special things from this picture, "Bruce wilis and Demi Moor pregnant with daughter" was very interesting thing to me because I felt pregnant is very beautiful thing in this world, now. And Annie Leibovitz focused on not just this celebrities' figures but special event to these people in their life. So, I think it was very beautiful picture among celebrities' pictures.
And also I was interested in the photograph of her Private life because I felt happiness sadness from this picture .
