
“The life of David Gail” tells the story of a famous abolitionist of death penalty who finds himself on Death Row in Texas, charged with murderer of a woman, his old friend who has leukemia, who also opposes to capital punishment. However, this story become clear that David Gail frames this plot to explain repugnance of execution in the last scene of this movie. This movie shows that capital punishment has important defect of the irrevocability of the penalty in misjudgment case. General proposition that “Every swan is white” become clear by appearance of “black swan”. Namely, if an example of disproof that innocents could be sacrificed through execution appears, justification and continuation of death penalty also couldn’t be maintained. So, He wants to suggest perfect example of disproof to break execution through his and his friend’s sacrifice.
